The Power Platform setup is genuinely good and adoption has stalled. The problem is always one of five things.

1. Nobody knows the platform exists

Power Platform can be deployed and running while the people who would benefit most have never heard of it. Fix: active internal communications programme, not a once-off announcement email.

2. The path to building is too hard

Tickets, mandatory training, three approvals, compliance review before building anything β€” most potential makers will not start. Fix: streamline the maker journey. Make the first win achievable in a day.

3. There is no support structure

Makers get stuck. Without support, they go back to Excel and email. Fix: maker office hours, a Teams channel, a community of practice.

4. Early solutions are not good enough

If the first Power Platform apps have reliability problems, leaders form opinions about the platform based on inadequate examples. Fix: invest in quality for the reference solutions.

5. Leadership is not using or endorsing it

Adoption follows authority. When senior leaders are indifferent, middle managers make conservative decisions.

The most impactful action a CoE team can take is getting one senior leader to use a Power Platform solution in their daily work and talk about it publicly.

Adoption work is not a technical project. It is a marketing and change management project. Staff it accordingly.
